Lockdown Landscapes: Be Somewhere Else #1

After 8 weeks in lockdown looking after my two young children, I raced into my studio and fantastical landscapes started to emerge from thin air, as if being confined within 4 walls had developed these imaginary landscapeS. The rules I set myself were the landscapes must be fictional and the colours unfettered. I used oil paint and occasionally oil pastel, I worked quickly without aforethought in order not to hinder the process. I just wanted to let what had develop during lockdown, emerge. All those horizons and landscapes gathered over the years in the sub-conscious, combined and then released.
