Komorebi

Komorebi, Acrylic
Komorebi
The title "Komorebi" is derived from a Japanese word meaning "filtered light through the leaves of trees." The image is about movement: of light, of water, of the viewer's eye around the circular composition. Although I paint in watercolor and oil as well, acrylic was my medium of choice to express the behavior of water, the varying degrees and colors of shadows, and the opacity of the rocks.
