Le Forgereon is a painting of a blacksmith in the Languedoc region of Southern France. The forge seduces the senses. Iron and hot firelight playing against outdoor light filtered through a small window. The silence and the clang of a heavy blow, as hardened steel bends to heat and pressure, exactly applied. The blacksmith is my neighbor where I'm renovating a 2nd home in a tiny medieval village.
