Stanley Creek

Stanley Creek , Landscape
Stanley Creek
I think of my paintings as a contradiction to the current status of a deeply overwhelmed and increasingly complex world. Painting, the method I use to create these images, is by its very nature diametrically opposed to the zeitgeist of our era, and how I prefer to distance myself from the overbearing cacophony of today’s world order. The subject matter I chose for my paintings are found on hikes or backpacking trips into the wilderness in or near my home state. The image for the first painting "Stanley Creek" was taken in the mountains of Stanley Idaho in the late fall. The images for second and third paintings "Winding River" and "Shallow Waters" were taken in Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge.
