A lifeguard on careful watch. Symbolic of the ever watchful gaze over the horizon. The title, Red, White on Blue is in reference to the colours of the American flag and identity. Using broad, layered techniques in the clothing and a softer impressionistic technique on the skin and the ocean, allowed me to create a dynamic and soft effect simultaneously.
