Radiating Hope
This is the fist painting I did after my community shut down for covid quarantine March 12th 2020. A few days later after a very disruptive sleepless night I got up early, got ready for the day, made coffee and decided to sit outside in my courtyard to drink it - something I had never done before. It was not quite six AM as the sun broke over wall shining in all its morning glory on against the courtyard wall behind me. The bouncing light fairly buzzed and pulsed with joyous energy, making everything it touched stand up and dance. I had my sketch book and some coloured pencils with me. I slowly enjoyed my come while sketching the geraniums I keep on my bistro table. Then painted this over the next few days. Little did I know I would be spending the next 115 days alone in varying degrees stages of covid related curfew; only leaving my house five times in four months. The memory of this blossom represent the promises that come from that staying steady and productive during times of challenge.
