Evening Glow on 5th Street

I was on a trip to Kansas City when I came upon that scene on a late afternoon. I was immediately inspired by the play of light and shadow on the street and on the buildings.
As always, I started my painting with an undercoat of bright orange to give the final piece its special glow.
