This sketch was done on location in watercolors and pastels of the Wickenburg area of Arizona. I find it to be such a interesting location to paint. You have Hells Wilderness with the Castle Hot Springs location of the first Hotel in Arizona which housed such famous people as the Rockefellers, Kennedys, Wrigleys, Cabots, and Carnegies. This painting was from the Historic Flying Dude Ranch just a few minutes outside of Wickenburg.
