Day Breaking across Wells Creek

This one took three mornings. The sun rose so fast because it was hardly down. So the long shadows retreat to their sources quickly. As the light changes, it leaves me to paint more from memory and imagination. It is like putting away the recipe when your cooking and seasoning to taste.

As the cows walked through the pasture, I couldn’t help but think the James Taylor lyric, "Deep Greens and Blues are the colors I choose..." from “Sweet Baby James.”
