What is plein air painting? Plein air painting is going out in the fields and painting the garlic pickers as they harvest the garlic. Here is a painting of a painting, painted completely en plein air, easel, palette and all. I purposely did not complete the painting on the easel in the painting to encourage the viewer to finish it and join in the dance with the artist and nature.
