Off Duty

I painted this on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. I loved the shadows on the lifeguard tower in the early morning sun. When I started, the beach was completely empty but when I finished, the guard tower was half covered with umbrellas and chairs and there were beach goers everywhere! The funny thing is, I barely noticed until I was done and packing up! It is painted with oils on a linen panel.
