Sill Life with One Blue Butterfly

Sill Life with One Blue Butterfly, Floral
Sill Life with One Blue Butterfly
A studio arrangement with the late afternoon winter light coming from the window behind. The objects have been selected to indicate the brevity of life and the passing of time. The flower, blooming only for a short time, the fruit on the table also finite and the butterfly transforming and changing during its brief time as well. The pegasus ascending chosen to show the aspirational and altruistic goals of this work and others. The metronome ticking off the sequence adds a musical element of measurement of time as well. The dancer, painting of mine in the background was chosen to underscore the dance of life with the time and music elements. This painting of the dancer based on a bronze statue in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC.
