Gathering Garlic in Straw Hats (2587)

The garlic pickers are like dancers on the earth - they pull up the garlic and drape it across the earth in rows for it to dry. They return a day or 2 later and gather it and twine it into one kilo bundles. The cadence of the work, the figures bobbing up and down as they chant their African songs, the breeze from the winds in Provence bring it all together into a paint-able universe. I am grateful for this.
