Painted on location at Wharfinger Marina, Eureka, CA. This painting is five tall, and ten feet long. My biggest battle was the wind. I used Zip ties and even those would brake at times. So many times I felt like destroying the painting out of shier frustration at it just wasnt going well. The first five evenings were nothing but work and feeling like I was crazy. But I remembered to keep looking at the scene and painting no matter what. By the sixth evening things started to get exciting as it began to read. By the eighth sunset I signed it. I will always be humbled at the beauty and colors that dance across Humboldt Bay at sunset.
