In this painting of the Sonoma coast of northern California, I was inspired to communicate not only the scale of the crashing waves but also the brilliantly sunny day. It was exhilarating to experience the force of these monumental waves in the brilliant sunshine, and it left me with the desire to capture that feeling in my painting.
