My Father’s Field

I research and paint old homesteads and trails west in America. Due to limited travel during Covid, this is one of my paintings from “Within 50 Miles” done this spring. I searched for a winter background with foreground signs of warm earth protruding from the furrowed rows in the field. The resulting 38”x48” oil on Baltic birch panel was done mostly as finger painting and palette knife.
