I research and paint old homesteads and trails west in America. Due to limited travel during Covid, this is one of my paintings from “Within 50 Miles” done this spring. My travels to Cody bring me along a river bed with rich veins of coal on the far bank cliffs. The melting spring snow mixed with sagebrush leads one to a fascinating lonely tree growth. The resulting 38”x48” oil on Baltic birch panel was done mostly as finger painting and palette knife.
